New Maui Restaurants
Yesterday I posted a rather long list of restaurants that closed in 2009… it was sad for me to see how many there were.
I cheer up today, however, to post our list of favorite new Maui restaurants.
If you haven’t eaten at these places, check them out:
Bistro Casanova in Kahului (where Manana Garage used to be) is sister to the Makawao stalwart, but skips the pizza and heads straight for pasta, steaks, and salads.
Cuatro Restaurant in Kihei is tiny but packs a lot of flavor into every dish. Asian meets South American meets truffle oil.
David Paul’s Island Grill in Lahaina continues the tradition of big, bold flavors in dishes featuring super-fresh local ingredients.
Shameless plug: My full review for each of these is in Top Maui Restaurants 2010 – pick up a copy to get the full scoop.

Ate at Dukes Beach house wednesday night and had the dukes famous caesar salad I felt it wasn’t that great. But had the sauteed macnut and herb crusted (Opah) which was very good as was the banana leaf steamed island fish and shrimp (opakapaka). Was not thrilled with the dessarts so pasted on that. It is localated on the beach in front of the New Honua Kai Resort. It is a TS restaurant which owns Kimo’s and Hula Grill.I would go back!
