This quiet, beachfront bungalow café is relatively unchanged since the late 1970s. The reasonable prices and relaxed atmosphere have accrued local fans because you won’t pay an arm and a leg in Ka’anapali for good pancakes at breakfast, sandwiches at lunch, or fish entrées at dinner. If you’re hankering for macadamia nut pancakes drizzled in coconut syrup, consider this hassle-free spot over the crowded Gazebo down the road. At night, the wine list offers some (very) surprising bargains. Castaway Café consistently doles out decent (if somewhat unimaginative) dishes with a gorgeous view, and service that is hit or miss. If you’re stuck in Ka’anapali and want a break from the resort prices (especially on wine), this could be right for you.
