Maui Film Festival’s Starry Night Moondance a Screaming Deal
The Maui Film Festival starts tonight, and while there are plenty of interesting screenings to attend this evening – including three, yes, three surf movies under the stars – we’re more interested in the killer deal on the always-fabulous Starry Night MoonDance at Tommy Bahama’s.
This party usually requires a $150 ticket, but this year, it’s only $50. For less than what we typically spend on dinner at Tommy’s, you’ll be drinking Tommy Bahama rum drinks, Maui Ocean Vodka drinks, Stella Artois beer, and a full selection of wine, plus Crab Claws, shrimp, sashimi, mussels dynamite on the half shell, Chicken Lollipops, beef skewers, lamb chops, grilled veggies, and the obligatory fruit and cheese plates. Don’t forget caviar and one of our favorite desserts on Maui, butterscotch pudding (made with Dewar’s whisky – totally sinful).
How Barry Rivers arranged a night at Tommy’s for $50 per person is beyond us. But with so few truly fabulous late night events on Maui during the rest of the year, this is sure to draw the cutest, tannest, coolest crowd.
Tickets are nearly sold out, but they still have a few at the Maui Film Festival kiosk at the Shops at Wailea. A call to the Film Festival this morning confirmed that they are trying to get a few more, so if they’re out when you arrive, call 808-579-9244 to see if they can squeeze you in.
