Maui’s Occupancy Rate 55.9% and American Airlines Gives Good Deals
If you’ve been putting off your trip to Maui, now might be the time to get on the plane. After the fourth month in a row of record lows in hotel occupancy rates, Maui’s hotels and restaurants are trying their hardest to attract visitors.
I’d say it’s time to make some plans and lock in those low rates … it doesn’t look like we’ve hit bottom yet.
Just in time, American Airlines started a new Maui price promotion:
For flights made through Dec. 16, 2009, (blackout dates: 10/2-10/25 and 11/20-12/ 1), some sample fares include:
Fresno flights to Maui: $268
Atlanta flights to Maui: $333
Washington DC flights to Maui: $333
Check out the deals here on the American Airlines website.
Also, check out the new Portland-Maui flight on Alaska … come to the sunshine, Portlandians!

Ummmm, noticed the date refers to 2009! Time for an update. I’m hoping American is still offering deals. Not so much when we booked our trip for next month!
Really liking Alaska Air prices. First class is affordable from Florida! Only reason we didn’t book with them is that we cashed in FF miles for this trip.
