Valentine’s Day on Maui
Overpriced Valentine’s Day menus are de rigueur these days all across the U.S. … and Maui is no exception. This most exceptional and romantic island is a magnet for lovers of all ages — and the restaurants know it.
So, where would James and I dine, if we were in the mood for a splurge? All of our favorite splurge restaurants are well-documented in the new edition of Top Maui Restaurants — look for the “romance” icon — but there are two special Valentine’s Day menus we’d love to recommend to you.
If you’re on Maui with your lovebird, consider the following two restaurants that you may otherwise miss:
Capische? in Wailea has a delicious five course fixed price menu ($125) featuring some of their most luscious dishes and one new idea we haven’t seen before: the “Lady and the Tramp” spaghetti and meatballs for the third course. We’re tempted – not only because we’re huge dog lovers 😉 – but because the decidedly upscale dish features braised beef short rib, Haiku tomato marinara, and house-made spaghetti. You can see the whole menu and book a table at their website, or call 808.879.2224.
If you’re on the West side, Gerard’s Restaurant in Lahaina offers lovely French food any day of the year, and this sweet restaurant – with top-notch food – is also creating a special Valentine’s menu that focuses in on the most romantic a la carte dishes. Book a table on their website or call 808.661.8939.
Seatings are still available at both of these special restaurants as of this writing.
