New Hawaiian Airlines Hub on Maui

Hawaiian Airlines will operate the JFK-Honolulu route using its newest and largest aircraft, the Airbus A330-200, seating 294 passengers, and offering the comforts of a spacious interior, increased legroom, and a state-of-the-art, on-demand entertainment system for each passenger. Oh, this is gooooooooood news.
Hawaiian Airlines has announced that it’s creating a new hub in Hawaii, and it’s right here at OGG in Kahului. The new hub will ease travel statewide, increasing service by 25 percent. This means more and more direct inter-island flights (no more having to fly to Honolulu to fly to Kaua’i or the Big Island), and also more flights to the West Coast.
Thank you, I say. Thank you very much.
Also, thank you very much to Hawaiian for creating a non-stop route from Honolulu to JFK International. New Yorkers, take note – starting June 4, 2012, you will be able to fly non-stop to Honolulu on Hawaiian. Increased competition to the East Coast will likely bring fares down. Now, isn’t that wonderful??
My mother (who lives in Connecticut and thinks I should be on a plane more often than I am) certainly thinks so.
